The entries that will take part in the second phase of Salão Design Movelsul 2012 – the largest product design competition in Latin America have already been chosen. Seventy-five participants will submit their full-scale products for the final evaluation of the jurors, held on Feb.27 and 28. The focus of the event this year is the furniture for the new Brazilian middle class and, according to Peter Moog, of Lattoog Design and a member of the judging panel, there are very consistent sketches. “We have many good products in the competition, but of course some are more surprising than others. Now we need to wait to see if they correspond to what was shown in their final project.” Of the 75 selected entries, 50 are from Brazil and 25 are from other countries such as Argentina, Cuba, Uruguay, Colombia, Italy, South Korea and Belgium.The award ceremony will take place on March 26, during Movelsul Brasil, in Bento Gonçalves, RS.
