Orchestra Brasil, a project that encourages exports supported by the Furniture Industry Association of Bento Gonçalves (Sindmóveis) in partnership with the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil), will exhibit Brazilian creations at the Brazil S.A. lounge, in Milan. The trend show is held concurrently with the Salone Internazionale del Mobile, April 9 14, 2013. The products to be exhibited were designed by 15 studios that take part in the project that promotes the competitive inclusion of providers of supplies, components, technology and design services to the furniture industry in the international market. The Reflections theme, chosen for the second edition of the show, is intended to provide a multisensory experience that involves visitors and exhibitors in a narrative context with Brazilian cultural and emotional reference. According to the president of Sindmóveis, Cátia Scarton, design is a competitive tool that differentiates products in the global furniture market. Therefore, the Brazilian creativity is valued in all action plans carried out by the association, including the Orchestra Brasil Project. The participation of this segment in the project is unprecedented because until 2012 service providers did not take part in the actions. Currently, the initiative has 95 member companies of supplies, components, technologies and design for the furniture industry. “We believe in the creative potential of our professionals and the degree of innovation found in the furniture they design,” says Cátia. The pieces of furniture that will be exhibited during the show at Palazzo Giuresconsulti, central Milan, were selected by the curatorship of Casa Brasil 2013.
