Growth in the Brazilian exports of inputs for furniture

Member companies of Orchestra Brasil grew by 15.4% from January to August over 2011   The member companies of the Orchestra Brasil Project, a partnership between Sindmóveis and APEX-Brasil, saw a growth of 15.4% in their exports from January to August over the same period in 2011. The main destination was the North American market, which grew by 50.6% compared to 2011.   Some reasons for this increase are the various actions Orchestra Brasil takes in the USA. By attending IWF – Atlanta and KBIS – Chicago fairs, along with initiatives such as the Showroom at Apex Business Centre in Miami and the IndyCar Series –  Sonoma phase, have strengthened the presence of the member companies in this market.   With the economic downturn seen in the European market, the Latin American countries became the main destination of Brazilian products from January to August this year. Exports to Chile, Peru, Colombia, Mexico and Paraguay grew by 79%, 66.5%, 35.2%, 33.1% and 5.8% respectively.   In August, the Argentinean trade barriers to Brazilian products began to show signs of cooling down. In comparison to July, exports grew by 57.7%. And comparing to August 2011, there was an increase of 16.7% in the export volume.
