Peter Marigold, a designer from London, will give a seminar and workshops at Senai Cetemo, in Bento Gonçalves Orchestra Brasil, a project that encourages exports and the Furniture Industry Association of Bento Gonçalves (Sindmóveis) will hold the Design Week on November 6th and 7th, running a seminar and workshops. The activities will be developed by Peter Marigold, a designer from London. Tuesday, Nov 6th in the morning, Marigold will give a seminar entitled Thinking and Making, where he will reveal the history behind his objects, describing his experiments and the reasons that led to several of this works. On the occasion, the designer will show his projects and the design process of several pieces of his portfolio. Three workshops entitled The Waste Wood Orchestra will be held as an invitation for the creation of simple musical instruments made of waste wood collected from the local furniture industry. In these workshops, the guest designer will assist participants, helping them cut, assemble and decorate the pieces. The activity will consist of one session on Tuesday and other two on Wednesday. Born in London in 1974, Peter Marigold has experience in creating set designs for the theater and, since 2005, he has worked exclusively with furniture design. He graduated from Design Museum in London and has an MA in Product Design from the Royal College of Art (RCA), London. His works have been exhibited in major trade fairs including the London Design Festival, Milan Furniture Fair, Design Miami, Stavanger (Norway), MoMA (New York) and 21_21 Design Sight (Tokyo). The Design Week will be held at Senai Cetemo in Bento Gonçalves, with free admission and limited vacancies – the musical instrument workshops will be restricted to a group of 15 people.
