Orchestra Brasil project defines action plans for 2013

The calendar includes the participation of designers and manufacturers of supplies for the furniture industry in 24 international projects and fairs   Orchestra Brasil, a project that encourages exports, has already defined the international projects and fairs it will participate next year. The calendar includes actions for commercial promotion and the positioning of the industry abroad following the guidelines of the Orchestra Brasil strategic plan, designed together with the project’s member companies and organizers – the Furniture Industry Association of Bento Gonçalves (Sindmóveis) and the Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil)   The Orchestra Brasil project aims to promote the competitive inclusion of manufacturers of supplies, components, technology and design services for the furniture sector in the international market. Currently, the initiative comprises 68 companies and 35 design studios. Between 2012 and 2013, the agreement for technical and financial cooperation between Sindmóveis and Apex-Brasil includes the investment of R$ 4.88 million in projects carried out in 11 target markets: United States, Mexico, Colombia, Peru, Chile, Argentina, Paraguay, Uruguay, South Africa, Canada and Turkey.   According to the president of Sindmóveis, Cátia Scarton, the opportunity to integrate the efforts of the suppliers of the furniture industry with the Orchestra Brasil project since 2006 has allowed the access to accurate information on the foreign market, optimizing sales strategies and focusing efforts for the real exchange of experience with target markets. “This year we added the design service to the project, thus initiating a process to optimize the results, because our companies and our designers are ready to break into more markets outside Brazil,” she says.
