High Design Expo brings together manufacturing companies and design studios starting on August 9

Opening next Tuesday, August 9, High Design – Home & Office Expo expects to receive 15,000 trade visitors during the three-day event, exhibiting 80 brands. The high-end fair showcasing solutions for architectural projects and interior design is actually the continuation of Casa Brasil in São Paulo. The show set up in 2007 by Sindmóveis Bento Gonçalves is now taking place in the capital of the Brazilian design thanks to a partnership between Sindmóveis, Summit Promo and Informa Exhibitions, a multinational event organizer. High Design will be the anchor event at DW! São Paulo Weekend, expanding the generation of business during the festival, similarly to the relation between Fuorisalone and Salone Internazionale del Mobile in Milan. Following the model developed by Sindmóveis in the four shows of Casa Brasil held in Bento Gonçalves, the new fair will combine business and content through simultaneous projects. The fair is expected to become the major international furniture design event in Latin America. Developed countries with high income are the main consumers of high-end furniture in the world. European countries, which have the highest per capita incomes, occupy the top positions, according to Euromonitor information (2016). Although Brazil ranks 41st in the world, the Brazilian culture has achieved international recognition and Brazilian design furniture has left its mark on the world’s leading design circuits. The President of Sindmóveis, Henrique Tecchio, points out that the Brazilian design gained position in the foreign market due to modern, organic, functional and intelligent creations, especially because of issues regarding sustainability and innovative materials. He mentioned some countries where there is greater openness to the Brazilian design and good business potential including the US, UK and Germany. “The Brazilian design characteristic is the result of multiplicity of currents and cultural roots. Holding a high-end fair in São Paulo that shows the Brazilian creativity to the world, is one of the strategies that Sindmóveis advocates to face the economic crisis,” said Tecchio. In addition to the advisory curatorship of the fair, Sindmóveis takes part in High Design Expo exhibiting the award winners of the last Salão Design, promoting the registration of entries for the 21st event, open from August 22 to November 21. The regulation is now available for download at www.salaodesign.com.br.   High Design Expo – concurrent events DW!
