The new board of directors of the Furniture Industry Association of Bento Gonçalves (Sindmóveis) was elected on November 21 led by the vice-president of the organization, Henrique Tecchio. The 35-year old executive of Bentec will be the president of the association between 2014-2015, having as vice-president the Human Resources Manager of Bertolini group, Alexandre Michelin.

Henrique Tecchio will be the youngest president in the history of Sindmóveis. Graduated in Business Administration and having an MBA in Finance, Auditing and Controlling Management from Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV), Tecchio has been working in business associations of Bento Gonçalves since 2008, when he was the CIC/BG international director, and its president from 2010 to 2011. During the period Sindmóveis was chaired by Cátia Scarton, he was the vice-president. Tecchio will take office on January 1, 2014.

President of Movelsul

Tecchio was also nominated by Sindmóveis to preside Movelsul Brasil 2014, in compliances with the project that unified the board of directors of the association and the fairs. His main projects for the two-year mandate include working together with the association members to find solutions for the sector, the construction of the new Sindmóveis headquarters, increasing the representativeness of the sector on the federal scope and enhancing the union and the strength of the furniture center in Bento Gonçalves.

Regarding the fairs promoted by the association, the new president will face the challenge of reinventing Casa Brasil for the 2015 show, and increasing the attractiveness of Movelsul Brasil for visitors and exhibitors. “Sindmóveis must be aware of the changes in the consumer market and be able to pass them on clearly to its trade shows,” he says.

After two years presiding Sindmóveis, Cátia Scarton now joins the association supervisory board. The inauguration of the new board will be held in January.
