The Furniture Industry Association of Bento Gonçalves (Sindmóveis) has just elected its first female president. Born in Bento Gonçalves, Cátia Scarton was chosen on Nov. 22 last for the period 2012/2013, with the task to lead and promote the thriving furniture industry center of Bento Gonçalves. Sales, marketing and finance director of Prima Design, Cátia Scarton has had a long working history at Sindmóveis. Since 2000, when she became the vice-director of Marketing for Movelsul, her involvement with the Association has been really active. Currently, she is the Director of Relations with the Market of Sindmóveis, Casa Brasil and Movelsul. With an outstanding resume, combining the dynamism of her youth with the experience of having worked in the furniture industry for years, the new president of Sindmóveis will face great challenges in the next two years.The first one will be the organization and promotion of the 18th edition of Movelsul, scheduled for March 2012.
