Expansion of the My House My Life program benefits the furniture sector

The construction of three million new homes by the My House My Life program is an opportunity to boost sales in the furniture sector. This is a statement made by the president of Sindmóveis Bento Gonçalves, Henrique Tecchio, who believes that the industry can benefit from the increasing number of people with access to the My Better House card.

All families that have purchased their housing through the federal government program and have all installments duly paid may apply for a R$ 5,000 loan to buy furniture and household appliances. The products offered include beds, wardrobes, kitchen cabinets, tables and chairs, bookcases, racks and sofas. “If the furniture segment aimed at classes C and D is able to take advantage of this opportunity, it will be especially favored by the greater amount of popular housing,” said Tecchio.

Bento Gonçalves is home to the largest furniture center in Brazil, with 300 manufacturing companies and nine thousand direct jobs. Every two years, the association organizes Movelsul Brasil, the leading furniture fair in Latin America aimed at new middle class.
